OpenSource@Stanford is excited to be the first academic Open Source Program Office (OSPO) to form a working relationship with pyOpenSci and rOpenSci to deepen knowledge of or Python and R software peer review programs and engage with their broader open source communities! Workshops and trainings are available to Stanford students, postdocs, and staff.

With pyOpenSci, we aim to deepen knowledge and practice of peer code review, Python package management, research software development skills, and community engagement. With rOpenSci, we connect Stanford developers, researchers, and scientists to rOpenSci's infrastructure that promotes the development and use of high-quality research software in R.

Open Source Licensing
One of the most important pieces of open source software development is providing clear licensing. Learn how to select and attribute an appropriate license to your project.
Software Citation
Learn how to gain credit for your open source software packages with a walkthrough of best practices on software citation, including how to get DOIs for your software repository and publish in the Journal of Open Source Software.
